Representatives of law enforcement agencies and courts from more than 265 jurisdictions across Texas announced today combined efforts to host the sixth annual Great Texas Warrant Roundup beginning Saturday, Feb. 25.

The roundup targets thousands of defendants with outstanding warrants for traffic, parking, city ordinance, penal code violations and higher charges from participating jurisdictions.  It is believed to be the largest joint operation of its kind with arrests expected to continue for several days. 

Hundreds of thousands of notices were recently mailed statewide by participating entities.

Numerous counties, justices of the peace, constables and municipalities of all sizes will participate in the roundup.

Specific information as to the number of outstanding warrants, how to take care of warrants prior to arrest, and any other special roundup activities or events may be obtained by contacting the representative for each agency (list provided below).  

Affected persons are urged to contact the appropriate jurisdiction or jurisdictions during the next two weeks to dispose of their cases voluntarily to avoid the inconvenience and embarrassment of arrest at home or work in front of family, friends or co-workers.

La Gran Redada de Arrestos de Texas comienza el 25 de Febrero

Representantes de organismos de seguridad y de juzgados de más de 265 jurisdicciones en el estado de Texas anunciaron hoy que unirán sus esfuerzos para llevar a cabo la Sexta Gran Redada Anual de Arrestos que comenzará el sábado 25 de febrero.

La redada está dirigida a los miles de acusados que tienen órdenes de arresto en sus jurisdicciones por infracciones de tránsito, estacionamiento, a los reglamentos municipales, al código penal o delitos más graves.  Se cree que este es el operativo en conjunto más grande de su clase, esperando que los arrestos continúen por varios días.

Las entidades participantes recientemente enviaron por correo cientos de miles de avisos a diferentes partes del estado. 

Numerosas jurisdicciones participantes, condados, jueces de paz, alguaciles y municipalidades de todos tamaños participarán en la redada.

Para obtener información específica respecto al número de órdenes de arresto pendientes en su nombre, cómo resolver las órdenes de arresto antes de ser arrestado y sobre cualquier actividad o evento especial sobre las redadas llame al representante de la agencia pertinente (vea lista abajo)  

A las personas a quienes esto concierne se les recomienda que se pongan en contacto con la jurisdicción o jurisdicciones correspondientes, durante las próximas dos semanas para que resuelvan sus casos voluntariamente y evitarse la inconveniencia y la vergüenza de un arresto en su hogar o sitio de trabajo, enfrente de familiares, amigos o compañeros de trabajo.
