There are seven members on the Austin City Council: one mayor and six council members. The entire council is elected at large by the voters of the City. Each member serves a staggered three-year term.
Meetings
Austin City Council meets at City Hall. Meetings begin at 10 a.m. on most Thursdays and are broadcast on municipal TV cable Channel 6 and also simulcast on KAZI-88.7 FM radio starting at 1:30 p.m.
