The Dougherty Arts School's adult arts program is dedicated to enriching the Austin community with hands-on artistic opportunities. The school hires skilled artists that are committed to sharing their knowledge and exploring new ideas with students. Open Studio
Open studio is available to students that are currently enrolled in a clay, drawing, painting or darkroom class. Studio hours may vary depending on class and staff schedule.

Sessions
The adult program has seven six-week sessions throughout the year as well as various short-term workshops. The program's yearly calendar is as follows:
- Fall 1: September - October
- Fall 2: November - December
- Spring 1: January - February
- Spring 2: February - March
- Spring 3: April - May
- Summer 1: June - July
- Summer 2: July - August
